Focus on donation payments integration & volunteer signups portal

Constraints:

Users are: volunteers, program managers, and parents of girls/young femme who would interact with volunteers
No logo or color change
Payments portal must be PayPal

Visual Changes:

Maintained color scheme
Modified button states and iconography so donations could be simpler and volunteers could sign up online (instead of printing a PDF)

Action from Problem-

Many volunteers were unaware of the Background Check and Interview steps in the signup process. We added iconography to quickly show the steps (and delay) involved in signing up

Action from Problem-

The previous volunteer signup page was a PDF that had to be printed and scanned. This process was a deterrent for users during testing, so we implemented a signup portal. Stakeholder desired an electronic application for tracking purpose, so this was a design implementation we identified needing during preliminary meetings.

Q: Currently, what is your biggest pain point with your site?
A: “Not interactive enough or user friendly for people who want to request information or submit applications.”
Q: How often is content updated on site?
A: “Basic information is not updated often, but new dates/times updated as needed at least 2x a year.”
Q: Do volunteers sign up through the site or would you want an online volunteer portal/registration?
A: “I want it on the website but I want it to be a form that...goes to a portal that admins can go in and check it out.”

Problem Statement

Passionate younger volunteers want to direct their energy and efforts towards volunteering even though they face competing demand for their time, attention and efforts.

But, websites that lack aesthetically pleasing design and lack of online forms make volunteering a difficult and strenuous task.
